The EACOP International internship program

The EACOP International internship program is a pivotal initiative aimed at providing young graduates and final year students with valuable hands-on experience and industry exposure within the East Africa Crude Oil Pipeline project. Through partnerships with tier one contractors and suppliers, the program offers approximately 40 international internship positions tailored to align with the scope of work of each participating entity. Interns engage in diverse roles spanning departments such as land and social affairs, surveying, finance, and engineering, gaining comprehensive insights into the project’s complexities.

The program’s flexibility allows for varying durations of internships, ranging from 5 days to 6 months, ensuring a tailored experience for each participant. Notably, the program extends beyond borders, with initiatives underway in both Uganda and Tanzania, reinforcing the commitment to nurturing a skilled and sustainable workforce across East Africa. By investing in the next generation of professionals, the EACOP International internship program not only contributes to individual growth but also to the collective progress of the region’s energy sector.

Though this internship program, I anticipate gaining exposure to the latest cable termination technology, both indoors and outdoors, as well as cable joints. I am eager to witness the safety protocols in place at the site, particularly in handling larger cables, and to explore the additional training components included in the package.
