East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Ltd. Together with its Tier 1 Contractors Host an Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecommunication and Security Systems (EITS) & Transport & Logistics Supplier Forum
The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Ltd. on Friday 17th March, 2023 hosted a quarterly supplier forum. Supplier forums are among the commitments made by the company and its contractors to ensure transparency, information sharing and to promote participation from Goods and Service Providers in the Oil and Gas Sector.
As a way of ensuring the right people are in the room for the discussion, the Company together with its Tier 1 Contractors took a novel approach and initiated subject-specific forums. To this end, the forum today will occur in two parts:
The morning half of the day focused on Opportunities on the Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecommunication and Security Systems (EITS) scope of services. It included presentations from our contractors Worley, CPP and others who will be contributing to this scope to a smaller extent. Over 58 Companies involved in EITS, as shared by the Petroleum Authority of Uganda were invited to attend this info session and network with the main contractors involved.
In the afternoon, over 40 Transport and Logistics Companies were invited to hear more on the opportunities available on the Transport and Logistics scope of services on the EACOP project. The main presentations were from CPP and Bollore Logistics, both of whom have a role to play on this scope. Information was also be shared by Worley on their transportation needs.
In addition to the companies participating in the sector, EACOP’s stakeholder Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) and Uganda Nation Oil Company (UNOC) were also in attendance. The session ended with interaction and networking between main contractors and the business community. Petroleum Authority through their closing remarks expressed their appreciation to EACOP for encouraging local participation in the oil and gas sector.
