On 30 May in Arusha, Tanzania, EACOP and TotalEnergies hosted the 4th edition of the Youth in the Energy Sector Students Conference under the theme “From Resource to Prosperity: How Tanzania Turns Energy into Development.” The event brought together 200 students physically and over hundreds online, creating a strong platform for dialogue between youth and industry leaders, with students actively engaging and showing strong interest in sector opportunities.
Delivering the keynote address, Kenneth Mutaonga, Co-Founder of Asilia Energy, challenged participants: “If not us, then who? If not now, then when?” Marième-Sav Sow, V.P. Engagement & Advocacy for TotalEnergies EP, added: “Young Tanzanians are not the future of this sector. They are its present.” Participants also benefited from financial literacy sessions and career speed interviews, gaining practical skills and access to internship opportunities.
Building on three successful editions, alumni and interns shared how the programme has shaped their growth in the energy sector. EACOP and TotalEnergies remain committed to expanding its impact and creating more youth success stories.
