EACOP and PCK Launch Scholarship Program for 80 Tanzanian Youth
EACOP Ltd, in collaboration with Panyu Chu Kong Steel Pipe (PCK) and the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA), officially launched a scholarship program aimed at equipping 80 Tanzanian youth with valuable technical qualifications. The initiative is part of PCK’s Local Content commitment and EACOP’s dedication to developing skills and capacity building in Tanzania.
The 12-month training program, implemented under the VETA Special Training Programme, will provide both theoretical and practical training across multiple disciplines, including plumbing, electrical installation, welding, motor vehicle mechanics, masonry, and plant operations. The selected candidates will be trained at VETA centers in Shinyanga, Kilindi, and Moshi, preparing them for long-term career growth and improved job prospects.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held today at VETA Moshi, EACOP’s Local Content Manager, Ms. Neema Kweka, emphasized that this initiative highlights EACOP’s commitment to Tanzania’s local content policy by creating opportunities for young people to develop skills that enhance their employability. Through this program, EACOP and PCK are investing in the future workforce, ensuring that the youth gain the necessary expertise to contribute meaningfully to the country’s economic growth and development.
This scholarship program serves as a testament to the power of collaboration between industry leaders and educational institutions in advancing local capacity-building efforts. By supporting these 80 young Tanzanians, EACOP and PCK reaffirm their commitment to sustainable development and empowering local communities.
