The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project hosted a delegation of local leaders, including LC5 Chairpersons, Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), and Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs) from the pipeline districts. The leaders visited the PS1 (Pumping Station 1) site in Hoima, the starting point of the EACOP pipeline in Uganda.
This visit, organized in collaboration with the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), aimed to enhance understanding of the project among local leadership. Delegates from Lwengo, Kyotera, Kakumiro, Kyankwanzi, Mubende, Sembabule, and Hoima districts participated in the visit.
The leaders were briefed on the pipeline’s construction progress and operational milestones. Key highlights included; The five pumping stations, two of which are located in Uganda and two pressure reduction stations along the pipeline.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured the PS1 facility and observed the pipeline construction activities firsthand. They also viewed the pipes being strung along the Right of Way, offering them a closer look at the project’s progress and the scale of its infrastructure.
