EACOP Hosts National Planning Authority Team at Pumping Station 1 to Showcase Progress on Uganda’s Oil and Gas Infrastructure in Uganda

The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) recently welcomed a delegation from Uganda’s National Planning Authority (NPA) at Pumping Station 1 (PS1) in Uganda. The team, led by NPA Board Chairperson Prof. Pamela Kasabiiti Mbabazi, included 23 senior officials from the authority, along with the Executive Director and other directors.

This field visit, organized in collaboration with the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU), provided NPA officials a firsthand look at the construction of EACOP. During the tour, the delegation observed the stringing of the pipeline and received detailed insights into the intricate processes and advanced techniques being employed to bring EACOP to completion.

The primary aim of the visit was to facilitate an in-depth assessment of Uganda’s oil and gas sector development, aligning with the broader objectives of National Development Plan Four (NDP4). As Uganda continues to position itself as a significant oil and gas player in the region, the revenue and sectoral linkages from projects like EACOP play a pivotal role in the national economic vision.

EACOP remains committed to ensuring transparency and collaboration with key stakeholders as the project progresses toward completion. We are excited to showcase our efforts to build an infrastructure that supports Uganda’s long-term growth objectives.
