EACOP Management Team and Regulators Visit State-of-the-Art Thermal Insulation System (TIS) Coating Plant

On October 10, 2024, a delegation of regulators from the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) and the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) in Tanzania, accompanied by the EACOP Management Team, visited the Thermal Insulation System (TIS) Coating Plant located in Sojo. This visit provided an excellent opportunity to observe the application of the advanced technology firsthand.

The TIS Plant plays a key role in EACOP’s operations, focusing on insulating pipelines to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of crude oil. This state-of-the-art technology helps maintain the crude oil in its liquid form as it travels from Hoima, Uganda, to international markets through Tanga Port at Chongoleani, Tanzania.

During the visit, the regulators and EACOP leadership expressed their admiration for the progress achieved at the plant, noting that the project is steadily transforming from a visionary concept into a tangible reality. This visit shows the importance of collaboration and innovation in driving the success of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline project, which aims to set new standards in the region’s oil and gas industry.

This milestone highlights the ongoing commitment of all parties involved to ensure that the EACOP project meets international safety and efficiency standards while delivering on its promise of connecting Uganda’s crude oil to global markets.
